Creating these illustrations was a fun undertaking in college. The figures I created were for my professor’s textbook on Biomaterials. I enjoyed having a good excuse to tinker around in Adobe Illustrator. I tried various techniques with gradient shading to give materials a feeling of depth. It was a welcome break from the engineering homework, but also a good visual communication challenge. It was a unique assignment combining two things I enjoy deeply, art and engineering.
