The 2 mm Tension Band Pins were designed to recover lost sales in Japan and China. There was a perception that the pin diameter of 1.6 mm provided insufficient implant strength. The project expanded the sizes of the Tension Band Pins to 2 mm, a standard size used in those regions. I took this opportunity to improve upon the visual appeal of the Tension Band Pin Snapper. I drew inspiration from Greek and Roman architectural column design. The snapper resembles Doric columns.
